Many of us grew up in the church being taught to root for Moses, Daniel, and John the Baptist in the Bible, only to grow up and have our churches question our faith for not cheering on the Pharaohs, Nebuchadnezzars, and Herods in our world today.

Yes, there is a lot at stake, but the last thing these guys want you to do is make fun of them.

George was just trying to get to work.

ICE pepper-sprayed him, dragged him from his car, locked him in a detention center, and placed him on suicide watch. He even missed his young daughter’s birthday in the process.

This man is a veteran and American citizen. Don't look away.

I feel like a broken record, but I have to keep saying it over and over again: a farmer bailout won’t do much of anything because the market is gone. There will be no incentive to plant next year.

The bailout will help payoff farmer debt to the banks. That’s all.

Donald Trump is calling for the jailing of his political opponents in Chicago. His DOJ lackeys have already indicted a NJ Congresswoman for conducting ICE facility oversight and James Comey. John Bolton's house was raided.

We must treat these latest threats seriously and all stand up against them.

Johnson: "He has defunded our education system. He has defunded our transportation system. He's firing black women across this country. He's defunding our healthcare system. This president is absolutely out of control... Chicago is going to stand firm in protecting humanity."

Pritzker: "It's unconscionable. This has never happened before. They're calling out troops onto the streets of a state that doesn't want them and they're not even telling us where they're gonna go, what they're gonna do. This hasn't happened I don't think since the Civil War."

The House of Representatives has not held a vote since September 19th to avoid releasing the Epstein records. My opponent Ann Wagner hasn’t said thing about any of it. Enjoying her free vacation while the government is shut down.

Things to consider:

Document the violence & violations--on camera, w/photos, saving images--any way you can. Speaking as a historian- it will matter

Point out violations--w/images & text--even if you think it won't matter. It will. It needs to be called out & exposed

You are a witness.
Expose it.

So, Youtube has paid Trump 24.5 million to settle. Oh…and as part of that settlement…Noel Casler’s podcast can no longer be watched on Youtube. They are buying up media at an accelerated rate of speed…to silence dissent. Notice, however…Trump never threatens to sue Noel. Noel has THE receipts.

In spite of it all, Sandy is showing up and speaking out. This shutdown isn’t a partisan discussion point, it is literally about our lives.

May we all find Sandy’s courage, and lift our voices.

Things are accelerating. The end of our democracy and start of the Trump dictatorship isn't happening at a consistent pace—nor is it intended to.

The way they end America is to move so quickly that neither institutions nor the masses can react in time.

I'm not sure democracy makes it to Christmas.

The point of Jonah is not Nineveh’s repentance but Jonah’s fury at God’s mercy. It is a scathing parody of nationalistic religion that wants God on 'our side' and cannot stomach the possibility that God’s love extends beyond our religious and political borders, especially those considered 'enemies'.

I’m horrified by Trump’s order to send 300 National Guard troops to Chicago. We’re only nine months into a four year term and already the president is trying to invade an American city. If you’re in the Guard, you can and should refuse these orders.

ICE admits that up to 50% of arrests in its Chicago raids are "collateral.” These aren't statistics. They are parents taken from their children, neighbors taken from our communities. When does a "collateral" U.S. citizen child's trauma matter? This isn't law enforcement; it's a campaign of terror.

This video of Chicagoans intervening to save a man from being abducted off the streets by ICE is making the rounds on Instagram.

Community action works.

Here’s an idea for a reporter:

Gather some retired cops or MPs together and show them how ICE handles hecklers and protesters.

I guarantee you’ll get some amazing copy. Especially if your outlet lets you reprint profanity.

News today that ICE shot a woman is chilling. The videos online show that there are some abusive, masked thugs masquerading as law enforcement.

Nobody deserves this. The courts need to step in.

I hope you realize you're watching Nazi Germany in this century.
