Hey social media, give me non-monogamous fantasy book recommendations. Not hard sci-fi, not love triangles, not something that is gonna make me depressed or have nightmares, just a frikken fiction where characters get to have relationships with more than ONE OTHER PERSON.

Loving something, being a fan of it and extolling its worth and sharing it with others, does not require knowledge of its origin. But us creators end up being invisible more often than not and that can be devastating for marginalized creators especially.

I may know the name of the author/singer/designer of a given thing I love (off the top of my head? More unlikely) but do I know the names of the illustrators, background musicians, voice actors? Do I know actors AND directors AND composers, etc?

I think a lot about invisible labor and how marginalized communities end up fighting doubly hard against the trend to enjoy the product and overlook the creator behind it.

5: On a less dire note, how many people get personally offended when they fail to mandate everyone agree with their interpretation and opinion of a piece of media?

4: This is a dicey one, but how many people are deeply disgusted by the thought of children existing in tandem with adult sexuality? Many seek to entirely isolate children from becoming aware of adult sexuality, in the name of preserving innocence.

3: How many people want to ban any sign of anger from their social spaces because it makes them feel uncomfortable, threatened, stressed?

2: This seems obvious, but think about it. How many people want to outlaw whimsy from "professional" spaces because to experience it is too childish?

1: "Internal experiences"? Emotions, opinions, sexual attraction or lack of, fears, preferences, etc. Simple stuff.

Something I believe really strongly is no one can outlaw or mandate internal experiences. Not only is it futile to try, it is also morally wrong.

As humanity is a collective, parents can learn to offload their psychic trash on people close to them (often during sleep). This is an upper level skill, though, so your risks increase with each new parent friend but are never guaranteed.
