The EU and UK wasted much of last year, and paid painfully, for tariff deals that are now worthless.

But if SCOTUS had ruled *in favour* of Trump, those deals would also be worthless. He’d treat that as license to throw them away.

Avoiding any deals in 2025 was the strategically wise move

the basic desire here is for a woman who is extremely desirable but also so completely insulated from and uninterested in the real world that she could be tricked into being with a dumb loser and never even realize it

CLAUDE can help you with DEEP THINKING, you peasant, why aren't you USING CLAUDE to IDEATE?

(speaking entirely personally, I can't IDEATE more because someone is bitching about the printer being slow and oh look, the toilet is having problems again)

once more, while perusing Linkedin, I have to wonder:

What do the Serious Business Linkedin Influencers DO all day?

Because the way they talk, especially when it comes to AI, seems to imply that they basically belt out position papers to a grateful audience of...uh... CEOs? maybe?

This place is really nice. Turns a pretty ugly little corner of an older concrete residential tower into something very cosy and welcoming:

we blame Daniel O' Donnell

Seriously though, it's something I had vague plans to write about if I ever did become that Canadian Irish Whatever The Fuck scholar. (I didn't, needed to eat and so on)

My feeling is that America imports culture and exports it as the familiar. And people adapt to that.

There is a third type, of course: people who say "AI will probably never get so smart that it meaningfully, or even efficiently, replaces human labour, but tens of millions of people will still lose their jobs because there is currently a $10bn hype machine telling every CEO on earth that it will".

and the part everyone seems to keep missing in all of this:

several hundred people are donating their time & labor & equipment. for free.

yes, folks are helping sponsor the filament & the shipping costs. but none of us are being paid for THOUSANDS OF HOURS OF WORK.

that is what makes this go.

Fun to remember that the dad of the Brontës was just a weird Irishman whose surname was actually Brunty, but he changed it up to be fancy.

absolute best buds with Thomas Darby McGee though.

Because they may have been divided by ethnicity, they may have been divided by creed (McGee was a pretty serious business Catholic), and definitely by politics. But they have the one thing in common:

booze.

lots of fucking booze.

didn't he also puke on someone in Parliament?

Though I suspect that John A, like a lot of the lads from down the lodges, would probably be up for a bit of fisticuffs before he got too sozzled.

Seems like a conflict of interest to publish book banners & it is IF you're operating from an ethical POV.

Publishers are capitalists- w obligations only to their shareholders to make as much profit as they can. So they're 🤷🏽‍♀️

Alito will sell more books than I do. So my books & I are expendable 😒
