i lived most of my life in fairbanks alaska, a tiny dot in the middle of a vast arctic wilderness. a college town attached to a military base. it’s the kind of place people get assigned to and never leave, because the cold is counterbalanced by warm friends and cozy blankets.

Y'all my students are so incredible, we worked together to come up with our STEM Day table, then they all did so awesome running it that eventually I was no longer needed

And indoor birdwatching (taping up bird pics around the atrium + letting kids use binos to spot them) was a RESOUNDING success

This Halloween, we learned that inflatables are great for rain resistance.

But need help grabbing candy!

We started with the downtown businesses at 3pm and it was quiet.

Tried to go to Mendenhall Mall at 5pm but the line to the end of the parking lot. So we skipped.

Flats till 7. Hot cocoa break and then in our neighborhood. I think the boys were just given handfuls at that point.

Such a beautiful and creative costume!
