It's like they chose the exact opposite of Trump.

I think you mixed this one up.

It's on Glendale Ave in Sackville now. It will move to King St in Halifax on October 25th.

General pattern in regime change: the comedy gets better and then it gets banned.

I would love to see Stephen Colbert do a live show tonight with Jimmy Kimmel as his only guest.

Battle doomscrolling by posting 5 small pleasures in life:

1. Placing the last piece of a jigsaw puzzle (especially when you were afraid it was missing)
2. Finding the perfect gift for someone
3. Homemade chowder
4. Line-dried sheets
5. Vibrant fall leaves

Does that mean that Costco Bayers lake will become a business centre? How would that be different from what it is now

Was it ESTA or B1 visas? I thought they were similar but different.

At any rate, the arbitrariness of it is the biggest concern. And that ICE may may not care what arrangements or guarantees may have been given by other government agencies.

We always fill the paper leaf bags when we trim the hedges and have had no trouble getting them picked up. I thought they were okay for any organic yard waste?

Let's remember to be cautious and patient if and when we inevitably start to see higher volumes of pedestrians and cyclists on the roads while the trails are closed.
I encourage you all to slow your speed and give lots of space to help remind others to do the same. Let's make the most of a challenging time and keep our community safe!

Could The Examiner tag stories as paywalled/not paywalled? (I realize that stories move from one category to another)

I subscribe, so I see them all but it requires logging out and back in (and than navigating back from the main page) to see if something can be shared to non-subscribers.

I always thought the family/survivors wrote the obituary themselves and the funeral home just proofread it? That's been my experience. But I guess not everyone is able to, particularly in tragic circumstances.

If a funeral director wrote my obituary with AI, I would haunt them!

Trump: β€œDrop that Digital Services Tax or we’ll stop negotiating and put more tariffs on you.”

Canada: β€œOkay, they’re dropped.”

Trump, today: β€œCool. We’re gonna stop negotiating and put more tariffs on you anyway.”

CAN WE STOP NEGOTIATING WITH A PATHOLOGICAL LIAR NOW PLEASE?

In a similar vein, the Dutch Village Rd project seems to have gotten bound up excessively with the bike network in a lot of people's minds. Bike lanes are a part of it, but it's a complete rework of a road that had issues for everyone - pedestrians and drivers and cyclists - that needed to be fixed.

I'd like to know what the based the estimate they sent out on. They seem to have used winter bills to estimate spring/summer as well as ignoring any solar sent back to the grid.

Dear Mayor Fillmore, CAO O’Toole, HRM Councillors,

It is with great concern that I write to you regarding HRM Council’s plans to turn Morris Street into a one-way street.

Eliminating one lane to add bike lanes will contribute to traffic congestion, create unnecessary public safety risks and potentially jeopardize port activity.

We should all be moved by the letter from Emergency Medical Care Inc. (EMCI) and their concerns about the impact on providing emergency services in the area. Their letter should be taken seriously.

In addition, the Halifax Port Authority and PSA Halifax have raised concerns that should be respected. Simply put, it is irresponsible to prioritize bike lanes over a key economic driver for the province, which is exactly what the port is.

To say that I find it disappointing that public safety and economic impact concerns have been dismissed with a simple shrug of the shoulders would be a serious understatement.

As you’re aware, this spring our government passed Bill 24, which provides order-making authority with respect to transportation projects in municipalities. If HRM Council proceeds to make Morris a one-way street, the provincial government will be forced to act.

I remain hopeful that common sense will prevail and Council will reverse this decision. Please advise by Wednesday, August 6th if Council is prepared to do so.

Honorable Tim Houston
Premier of Nova Scotia
