Phew! 😂 No, I'm in Maine, and I'm not even Hungarian. (I think it's a not-so-famous line from a fairly early W. Herzog film starring Bruno S., probably "Stroszek." And he wasn't Hungarian, either. But I may be misremembering.) I will skeet the next firing, just as I skeeted the last two 👍

✌️On my great Hungarian word of honour, I am not.✌️Winter is for making pots--it's too cold to fire the kiln. That's for spring and fall (summer is too hot). The anagama goes for three days, round the clock, fed logs every few minutes, with 500-600+ pots inside

You make enough of them, you figure some things out. I have some thousand, two thousand year old handles. Made very quickly, I imagine, one after another after another, when pottery was the height of vessel technology. Wish mine were that artless and natural

He's in CT, I'm in ME. G. Wolff makes very nice low fire pots. I biscuit mine at the temp he finishes his ware, then glaze (at least a liner, so they hold water), then fire up to about 2,400°F--because my clay bodies are high-fire stoneware and porcelain. I woodfire because I like "flash and ash" 😉

I'm a USian, like you. I'm working on a virtual store, but that won't be for a bit. No matter, there's little to stock it until I fire the anagama in late spring/early summer! I'll probably leave these with flashing slips on the outside, and a shino (glaze) liner. (Though maybe shino outside, too)

Thanks! I still like pencil jars I can quaff a brew from 😉. I know that handles on utensil holders can mean less utility, as countertop space is often at a premium--so some with, some without
