It feels like every new psych job is either computational or ai-based research. Doesn’t bode well for people who do other great research that doesn’t fall into these niche categories.

Some very exciting life news: as of yesterday, I have officially accepted a TT assistant professor position at Monmouth University! Feeling very excited about what comes next and I thank everyone who has supported me throughout the years in achieving this!

Has anyone refinanced their federal student loans? If so, was it worth it? The unfortunate side of graduating is that now I must pay and I’m trying to figure out the best path forward.

I graduated this past weekend and immediately changed my signature to Sean Bogart, Ph.D.

The highlighted speaks perfectly to the effects of informational gist on misinformation susceptibility by Langdon and colleagues. I just had hoped prominent media wouldn’t perpetuate this kind of irresponsible reporting.

We are currently watching the best researchers science has to offer systematically be stripped of their ability to share critical knowledge - Franki is firmly in that category. This is horrifying to watch unravel. All the best to Franki and everyone affected.

I just found out today that another post doc I was a finalist for had to be removed due to funding cuts. I cannot understate just how hard it is to be searching for academic positions under this administration.

My heart goes out to all folks who have had their funding cut. May your research thrive.

It is very difficult being post-doc seeker with the funding freezes. The emotional toll of the market is notably exacerbated by what’s happening.

I also recognize how difficult this time is for those with funding already, who are either losing (or under threat of losing) their jobs. It’s no fun.

It should be! And I swear my opinion is in no way biased by my own recent experiences!
