Good news, family! The USDA has confirmed that SNAP benefits will be fully funded for November. This came after a federal judge rejected the Trump admin’s plan to offer partial funds for food aid. Food should never be a negotiating tool, and I am glad to see the USDA work to comply with court order.

Very tight budget before my seasonal day job starts again. Some of this week's 'use what I have and don't try to be a domestic diva' budget meals. It's been real but really tasty. I think returning to how I grew up cooking and eating relieved so much stress I'm even losing weight. Who knew? 🤷‍♀️😅

Maybe it's just a sacrificial moment for the last push? Sounds more magical anyway. 😁 Seriously though I have that happen a lot even since I woke up one day past my 20s and realized I had a whole ass body to take care of. 😅 I'm doing better at it, but when it rains it pours. Feel better!

So many want an individual hero or savior. In religion. In politics. In celebrity. Is this universal or more pronounced in this individualist society?

I'd rather be a bit hungry, utilizing other food resources, sharing with friends and family, getting creative in kitchen, remembering that as an small biz owner/artist that I can't even apply for SNAP sometimes, and gratefully submitting to a much needed attitude adjustment in how I spend money...

Fun fact: I'm an artist with a seasonal corporate day job. I'm hired back for December. I need to apply for SNAP for my tiwahe, but as someone with chronic illness, I really need good Marketplace coverage and zero copay. Open enrollment is now! But...
