It's as asinine as saying "art is bad"

This is a fundamental aspect of human engagement with the self and the universe and the people around you. Saying it is good or bad is about as intellectually bankrupt as one could get.

"religion is bad" is a painfully childish opinion and usually comes from projecting personal experiences onto billions of adherents, at best, or an Atheist White Man's Burden mentality at worst. Tiresome.

I feel like personally hardcore atheist guys annoy me more, just because im more likely to encounter them, and I know what they are going to say, or what their punchline is, and I am so bored of it; but they aren’t going to control the government anytime soon so white evangelicals still win

I know I harp on this a lot, but Judith Butler as points out in "Who's Afraid of Gender?", sex has a biological *component* but what that biology *means* is determined by culture. Humans can and do change sex.

of course, science says no such thing: every biologist I know who isn't a bigot knows sex is phenomenally complicated in the non-human world. Human sex is complicated too, but with the added fun of culture, which defines what our sex *means*.

in fact, I'm pretty sure the first people I ran across who opposed gender diversity (and griped about "feminists with blue hair") were militant atheist skeptics

not to mention the fucking professional atheist scientists who provide the entire foundation for anti-trans bigotry by saying "science PROVES there are only two sexes!"

May their underpants never be dry again.

Despite my own personal lack of faith, I am not sympathetic to people harassing other folks for believing in the supernatural/godly. I’m especially not sympathetic to ignorant atheists who are so Christiancentric that they assume all religions work the way evangelical Christianity does.

Been saying for years that there's a strain of atheist that's basically just white supremacists who feel entitled to reap the rewards of white Protestant Christian culture, they just don't feel that they should have to get up at 8am on a Sunday to deserve it. Their whiteness was enough.
