Sorta, I'm talking about fight mechanics like how you play the game I don't care if it's punching or guns or weapons or magic or whatever. You can name any game where you are not stuck in a 2D plane. MK4, Dead or Alive, Battle Arena Toshinden, Fighters Megamix, Tekken etc.

I think you've been playing Soul Calibur wrong. SF is a 2D fighter...Soul Calibur has an 8 way run mechanic they are nothing alike. 2D fighters are like Guilty Gear, Samurai Showdown, Smash, etc. Virtua Fighter, Arms, Soul Calibur, even Power Stone you can walk in every direction.

It's my favorite anime. They just greenlit season 6. The animation in season 1 is kinda butt, but it gets increasingly better and the storytelling is top notch the whole way through. Plus the first 2 seasons are 36 episodes so it's definitely worth binging. Xin is definitely that dude!
