Even in a government shutdown, the 13th largest army in the world wages war in Chicago. ICE’s militarized raids & abductions are terrorizing communities—while billions are poured into their hands.

Never mind organizing my workplace, I have completely failed at even conveying to my co-workers why Boss' Day is not a real thing that you should take part in. At least they stopped asking me to contribute.

i keep saying this but what i hate most about the ezra kleins of the world is their insistence is that politics is about messaging and triangulating. its never about offering a compelling vision of the world, its about trying desperately to capitulate to whatever moment we are in

Wait so, Jimmy Kimmel was the one who got fired because of Trump? I thought we were talking about Jimmy Fallon. Maybe they’re the same person in my head. I’m just gonna keep it that way. Carry on.

New research published in The Lancet finds that Western unilateral sanctions have caused 38 million deaths since 1970. The average death toll ranges from 400,000 to over 1 million per year.

Staggering levels of violence. This system is intolerable and must be replaced.

Today, the UN officially designated Israel’s assault on Gaza as a genocide.

As a party to the Genocide Convention, the U.S. has a legal obligation to obey our own laws, stop weapons sales to Israel, and demand a permanent ceasefire.

End the genocide. Ceasefire now.

Armand Hammer is an underground rap duo from NYC made up of the MCs billy woods and ELUCID. The Alchemist is a well-respected hip hop producer. I'm not aware of any dub production, but I wouldn't be surprised if he's dabbled. Their 2021 collab Haram is a modern classic IMO.

You'd think every Democratic candidate in NYC would be falling over themselves to embrace BDS and call for an arms embargo. www.nytimes.com/2025/09/10/n...

Just glanced at the comments of the announcement of the Taylor Lorenz episode of the Adam Friedland show. And I cannot think of anything lamer than being the guy who wakes up and is like, "Time to get into the comments section and defend the honor of the great news bro David Pakman."

“Chicago should be begging Donald Trump for help to keep Chicago safe,” Bondi added. “Yet, they aren’t so we’re going to go into a city who wants us there.”

Certainly looks like we scared the President away from Chicago. Fighting like hell works.

Spouse bought a Jimmy Buffett lp a while back. I had to admit that the songs that weren’t Marg-vile and Cheeseburger were solid. Made me think the dude caught a bad rap just because he prefigured the Mac Demarco/good vibes only sound by about 40 years.

Sitting across from the venue, eating a po boy on the patio watching kids line up for the Swans show. Kristoff walks past and waves at them. Radio played Sheryl Crow ‘If it makes You Happy’. Total jam. Sometimes life is ok.

When I read LeGuin it is very clear that the process of making something is far more important than the final product. It's way closer to Buddhism than capitalism.
