YAY my editing slate is filled up through the new year! 🥳 I’ve gone from freelance editing to working on four books for a publisher and I am so happy to be working with them consistently 🥰

I got feedback from my agent on my last few chapters and she called them exciting, awesome, and excellent 🥰 YAAAY take that imposter syndrome!

Recording more singers today! So excited to finish the background vocals and then send off the second track on my EP to the mixer later this week ☺️

Today I felt good enough from my lil hospital scare to go back to work (ish) and managed to get like, 3/7 things done before I got tired, so yay progress! 😌 giving myself grace because I’m still healing and tbh that’s pretty mindful of past me 🥲

I HAVE SOMEHOW MANIFESTED AN OPPORTUNITY FOR MAYBE A FULL (OR FULLER) TIME (ISH) JOB AS AN ASSOCIATE EDITOR FOR A PUBLISHING COMPANY AHHHHHH 😍

All that to say, WOMEN HAVE A RIGHT TO HEALTHCARE TO MAKE THE BEST DECISIONS FOR THEIR BODIES.

A huge team of people helped save my life and I can literally now imagine how deadly a pregnancy or abortion would be for me.

This week I spent 5 days in the hospital bleeding from my ovaries. As a veeerry high risk person for pregnancy, I decided to extract my eggs, which had some unfortunate side effects- which I luckily knew about because of my hematologist and fertility doctor.

Just about a month since The Road Rage Song was released and I'm thrilled to see the data on #spotify show that the song has been streamed 1,241 times in one month! 😍 Track two of my debut musical comedy EP "Songs for My Therapist" drops in October. Can't wait to tell you all about that one soon 😉

I'll probably write a poem about it 🫠

Luckily I'm now at home and on the mend, but it was a really tough week, and the whole experience gave me a lot to think about in how chronic illness forces you to create expectations and constantly change them, even if you've been living with something for 10+ years...

So my poem "Language" seems even more apt today - but there is no metaphor I want to share about knocking on death's door again. The truth is poetic enough.

I was a bit late on sharing these poems because last week I ended up in the hospital for five days after a medical procedure caused me to faint and drop my blood counts.

It only took me a week(ish) but I finally cracked the rewrite of the first chapter of this book! Revision is haaard, especially with the pressure of submitting to publishers coming up later this fall, but I am soooo proud of how the story's evolved through this grueling process 🙃

This week I’m doing all these hormone shots to extract my eggs and today I went to a meeting, came home, and my husband surprised me by our house being fully decorated for Halloween and said, “I know this is a hard week for you” 😭 and he haaates decorating 😭❤️🎃
