and many of these votes will be people who are not aware that they still are not allowed to vote after a former conviction. Even the instances where MAGA members thought they could vote for a relative were very, very few.

the proof is the information you got in advance about where your polling place is. Which will be like a school close by that is open for that purpose on Sunday. You will be informed that you are on the voter roll weeks in advance, so if for some reason you should not be on it, it can be corrected.

Germany.
You get a voter information about the polling station and bring that, which is enough. In case there should be some doubt, you may be asked to show an extra photo ID, which even be an invalid passport you cannot travel with any more, but is proof enough that it is you.

Please name a democratic country that makes it as difficult to register and to vote like the USA. Everywhere else, you are registered when you reach voting age. All you have to do is show up to your very close polling station (on a Sunday), show proof it is you and vote, which will take 5 minutes.

And the overwhelming majority of "illegal voting" is some poor suckers who were uninformed and thought they had the right to vote when they didn't, and get their life destroyed for it.

But... but... Trump just declared it had fallen by that amount and would be zero this year!
