Knew this would be the case but to see a Champions League last-16 draw in which 6 of 8 ties contains an English team is properly deflating. For fans of English teams, this used to be a competition full of mystique and fresh, exciting challenges. It’s now basically Premier League 2 with some invites.

I’ve not been either, first time I heard about it was in your blog. It’s on the list though (for when I next come back to the UK).

Charcoal barbies are a massive faff but by God they’re worth it.

Me neither until this week. The beach is right there and there are plenty of good eateries and drinkeries around. The hotel we stayed at reminded me of one of those classic old English grand seaside hotels you see in Poirot. Highly recommend heading up there if you can, just under 2 hours from SYD.

I regularly see people wondering how it's possible that there are so many musicians and writers and film makers and artists from a tiny nation like Iceland.

Interesting, I never knew that. However from that I understand Beer Deluxe has gone massively downhill recently, that’s not to say it won’t succeed at Pentridge though. Would love a smaller brewery to take it over.
