The BLS did exactly what it's supposed to do: provide accurate, nonpartisan data. When the numbers showed Trump's "economic boom" was actually a bust (33k jobs vs claimed 291k), he fired the messenger. After all, when it rains too much, true leaders fire the meteorologists.

I shared this piece before, but never explained the story behind it. Earlier this year, my wife needed emergency surgery for an ectopic pregnancy. Within hours, what started as a worry turned into a terrifying reality. They had to remove the pregnancy and her fallopian tube to save her.

Definitely worth noting how much higher the maternity death rate is in Texas, compared to the national average. While there aren't any hard numbers for 2025, I have seen multiple indications that they've increased with recent bans.
