It seems to me that some folk at any point in time want a particular flavour/texture/etc to be hitting their mouth (tacos! spag bol! momos! chippy chips!).

I (maybe others like me) simply enjoy flavours and textures. I really don't mind. That can be very unhelpful.

It’s 12 November, so it’s time to mark the 55th anniversary of the exploding whale of Oregon, an attempt to clear a cetacean carcass from a beach which prompted one reporter to say “The blast blasted blubber beyond all believable bounds”

Oddly enough I was gazing idly out of a train window near Culross, Scotland, and saw a whale carcass on the beach. The beach is inaccessible (because railway line) so they're just letting nature take its course.
