So proud of my husband, @finaldecisions.org (Bryan Lammon), who won the award for best 1L teacher at William & Mary Law School when he was a visiting professor last semester teaching civil procedure. The students asked me to surprise him by finding an excuse to get him into the building.

Finished my first year of teaching at William & Mary Law School. The 3L class does this really cool thing where they give hand-written thank you cards to every faculty member. Although I did not have a ton of 3Ls in my classes this year, I am continually impressed by their intelligence and diligence

Federal judge calls Trump's order targeting prominent law firm a 'shocking abuse of power' Trump, three months into his term, has moved swiftly to use the powers of the presidency in unprecedented ways to punish, weaken and silence his enemies,Β experts say.

β€œThe framers of our Constitution would see this as a shocking abuse of power,” district court Judge AliKhan said.Β  buff.ly/i5Upe16

Obviously. The regime targeting those who dared challenge it is a paradigmatic example of abuse of power. And a blatant free speech violation to boot.

Good question. @maxineeichner.bsky.social is running this and was sending emails to some of the AALS listservs, which is how I found out about it. Hopefully, she can provide the link if it wasn’t in her original post.

This morning, we learned that President Trump fired Board Member Gwynne Wilcox, whose Senate-confirmed term runs until 2028.

This move must be called out for what it isβ€”a frontal assault on the NLRB, its employees, workers, and the very idea of an independent civil service. 🚨

Important point of clarification from Chase Strangio: there is a history of de jure discrimination against transgender people, in terms of exclusions from the military, criminal bans on cross dressing, and other laws. (Don't forget marriage restrictions).
