25.11.2025 18:21 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I think rates have actually gone down at some publishers since I started working in comics 20 years ago. ๐
25.11.2025 17:05 โ ๐ 4 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Gotta remember that euphemism the next time someone calls out my objective stupidity. "Actually, I didn't spell it wrongโI'm challenging literary orthodoxy." "I don't lack the proper permitsโI'm challenging bureaucratic orthodoxy." "I didn't forget to wear pantsโI'm challenging fashion orthodoxy!"
21.11.2025 19:40 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Thanks, Brian! It's so wild to me that this was 14 years ago!
20.11.2025 17:40 โ ๐ 7 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I got you!
20.11.2025 17:20 โ ๐ 21 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 1I just saw the sad news that Drew Hennessy has passed. I didn't know him personally but had the pleasure of coloring some of his work. He was a brilliant inkerโa master of the craft. Please take a moment to read these recollections by those who knew him best:

Ah, Drew Struzan. RIP, you absolute legend.
06.11.2025 00:15 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Wow! You nailed it!
29.10.2025 21:49 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0If they can't provide the service that they have a monopoly on, then the only ethical choice is crime, lol
29.10.2025 02:30 โ ๐ 4 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I can't believe I paid almost 400 bucks for this garbage. Next year I am going to pirate every single game and sleep like a baby. ๐
29.10.2025 02:24 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Same. What an absolute joke. 325 bucks this year. $75 more than last year. And every single year the product gets worse. Infuriating.
29.10.2025 02:21 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0That's when it booted me. Unreal.
29.10.2025 02:15 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I know the double standard is silly to even mention at this point, but I can't help imagining the outcry if a Democrat Press Secretary told CNN "the Republican Party's main constituency is made up of white supremacists, Christian nationalists, and violent misogynists."
16.10.2025 18:25 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Entirely unrelated, I'm sure, but I was just thinking that I could really use a win right now.
15.10.2025 19:32 โ ๐ 3 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I thought Edmonton tap water was good until I moved to Vancouver. ๐
06.10.2025 18:43 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0It's amazing how obsessed you are with how old these people look. You've posted like half a dozen times about this. We get it: you're proud of the fact you are ageing well, and you think looking old is gross and indicative of moral failure.
04.10.2025 18:43 โ ๐ 3 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Yeah, I had to check it myself. We live in ridiculous times.
03.10.2025 20:42 โ ๐ 5 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 2 ๐ 0nope
03.10.2025 20:36 โ ๐ 3 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0the first time I've ever been told that the reason I look old for my age is because I am "evil". Natural ageing is a moral failure now? Not only should I feel bad for looking the way I do, but I *am* bad? Yeesh.
03.10.2025 17:20 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Thanks for posting all of this. I generally appreciate the commentary and context Kevin offers, but he seems to have a real blind spot when it comes to ageism. As a middle-aged man who started balding and greying two decades ago, I'm used to being mocked for my appearance, but I think this is โฆ
03.10.2025 17:20 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0So awesome that you managed to get Bryan to sign them, too. Why aren't those framed by now?! ๐
22.09.2025 16:35 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Please tell your daughter I'm sorry about the wait. It's frustrating for us, too. We finished book 5 almost six months ago! It's agonizing to me that it won't be out till March. The world of book publishing is so different from that of comics. ยฏ\_(ใ)_/ยฏ
22.09.2025 16:30 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Oh, wow, that's great to hear! Not only that your daughter likes the books, but that you discovered them for her because we'd chatted on Twitter. Man, that place used to be fun. I met (sometimes parasocially, admittedly) so many cool people on there.
22.09.2025 16:30 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Hell yeah! Next time we're headed there I'll give you a shout!
09.09.2025 20:06 โ ๐ 4 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0First one! I unironically love that place ๐
09.09.2025 17:21 โ ๐ 3 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0WHAT! Faith why
09.09.2025 17:03 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Lol, if I was making excuses for my reckless link clicking, I'd blame the fact I was checking my email in bed with one eye still refusing to open all the way.
25.08.2025 21:44 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0ha! I'm a grammar scold at heart (before comics I worked as an English teacher and a newspaper editor) so it jumped out at me, but I try to check my judgment these days and remind myself that ESL speakers exist (and that 99% of native speakers don't give a shit about comma splices). ๐
25.08.2025 21:42 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0There were quite a few red flags -- the bad English, the bcc, the time it was sent -- but the email address was legit and I was curious. I've always been the kind of guy to touch the stove to see how hot it really is, lol
25.08.2025 21:34 โ ๐ 3 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I think it's a pretty common scam now. I saw a few days ago a report on scammers who set up fake "Free Wifi, powered by Google" hubs in airports and when people connected, they were sent to a fake Google login page that just harvested their email address and password. Gotta be so careful these days!
