The remnants of Typhoon Halong battered western Alaska overnight. Homes, with people in them, have literally been swept into the Bering Strait.

Being a Christian means confronting Christians-no matter how powerful they are-who teach false doctrine and lead people astray. If they are wrong, they are wrong and need to be withstood.

In the Bible it says, "a double-minded man is unstable in all his ways." I think for Orwell, this might have been in his mind when he coined "doublethink" because it leads to instability. You can feel that sense of instability in Winston's consciousness throughout the book.

I grew up thinking I could do anything because of women like her. I had to read a story passage and answer questions about Jane Goodall in the 2nd grade. I can still see the sketch of her and the chimpanzees in the textbook. It made me believe anything was possible for me.

The boys asked me to throw while they played "Moss." Moss is apparently throwing the 🏈 and the boys battling to see who will come down with it. I asked the boys did they know who the game was named after. They said no. A household name has become a backyard game. Greatness. Legacy. #RandyMoss

A few thoughts on Assata Shakur. Her existence comforted me that the Black Power mvmnt wouldn't be erased despite the efforts to do that. Just because Sister Assata lived in exile did not mean she was safe. The knowledge of never returning home is a death in itself. Du Bois in Ghana comes to mind.

Just wondering if anyone would have sagely scolded my ancestors in the camps if they said "Fuck Germany."

Would you have called them bigots or said "Yeah the camps are bad but Germany has a right to exist?"

What is thwarting a lot of solidarity building is the fact that so many marginalized in-groups were split on their support/vote of the current POTUS. This has to be emphasized as well. The voting demographics for the past presidential election was splintering. We have to address this.
