As a friendly reminder to everyone protesting today: your phones are likely safe from the more invasive tracking methods. All you should worry about is celebrating with your comrades and minding what photos you take (record the cops at ever opportunity).

If you feel the absolute need to have surveillance cameras up on your house, make sure you own your own data and can tell the cops to take a hike if they dont have a subpoena.

Yeh Nvidia'a drivers are getting better but still suck and as for codec support for your camera files, you could try handbrake first, I have yet to personally find a file format ffmpeg couldn't rip apart but I also lack some of the more esoteric hardware to test.

Can't help you on the DAW situation with your plugins, but if you get used to DaVinci Resolve (or learn KDEnlive) you could absolutely edit video on Linux.

Not an easy watch/listen, but important new video from @deviantollam.bsky.social about the way a disabled trans prisoner has been abused and deprived of rights in federal prison. There's both a request for legal help/advice, but also a way to send letters to Kara to try to help her morale.

Also @deviantollam.bsky.social I've passed this along to a few of my friends who do civil rights law in hopes that they have someone in thier network who can help. I'm on the wrong side of the country for Kara but lawyer networks are odd and maybe someone knows someone.
