I think you’ve been really successful. Look at everything you’ve achieved! A book, a beautiful baby and a PhD on the way. I did my masters when I was pregnant with and then when my third was a newborn so I have a deep admiration for everything you’ve done.

Can I ask you why you chose to do a PhD when you’re already so successful? I’m really umming and ahhing about whether to try and get a place somewhere as I’ve finished my masters and missing studying but I’m not sure or should just try and write? Or do both? Or neither? Imposter syndrome is real!

Ok I need advice. Finished my masters this year and I know I want to write and share history but I’m not sure if I need to do a phd to gain some more confidence to do this. I get massive imposter syndrome and think a PhD might help me feel more of an expert. Or should I just start writing?? Heeellpp

Could do without the bullshit misogyny that went with it though.

The changes we have to go through, periods, pregnancy, breastfeeding, menopause all play absolute havoc with our hormones and definitely fuck with my mental and physical health.

Things that make me uncomfortable - reading about Victorian drs assumptions that women are dominated by their reproductive system and thinking maybe they weren’t a million miles off…

Just reading about masculinity in Victorian times when I’m presented with how men felt they needed to escape from the boredom of family life so they retreated to a smoking room, a billiard room or even a den. Sounds a lot like a man cave to me. Never realised I hated them before now but here we are

Too tired after watching Cena turn heel so I’m gonna have to postpone reading about the temperance movement for a day.

Shoes. We find all sorts of stuff cleverly stored in our shoes by our 3 year old. He has also put car keys of different nanas in a washing machine and a bin.
