Like, we know how this stuff can end. It takes courage, hard work, tough conversations. But we know how it works.

It is setting up to make what’s happening now look like child’s play. And people are disappearing.

Just gonna float a campaign slogan, free of charge, for anyone running for office against a Republican in 2026:

I get that we are having a difficult time as a society showing empathy for those who disagree with us. But if we lack this basic ability to show care for one another, our politicians will continue to hurt all of us.

Our politicians should not hate the voters; they should, at least, fear them and, at most, revere them. Instead, Trump and the GOP are showing disgust for citizens enough to rip healthcare from them and then lie to their faces. What a moral tragedy.

I hurt for Trump voters, in large part, because this bill is a betrayal. The Medicaid cuts, for example, are something you all were *promised* would not be eliminated. Trump's advocacy for this bill shows an utter disrespect for the people who put him in this office.

If you voted for him, I know you didn't vote for that. Please call your reps and let them know you don't want your vote in November to lead to unnecessary deaths.

I know the audience on this app is likely not in Donald Trump's target electoral demographic. For that reason, I highly recommend you publicly express the following to anyone in your life who is in that population, even if you feel it partially:

When the authorities tell you to hate your neighbor. Love them.

When the authorities tell you not to trust your neighbor. Share stories with them.

When the authorities tell you someone is illegal. Hold fast to the Constitution and your empathy.

I cannot stress this enough: the road ahead is long and difficult.

What I do know, from my location at the intersection of the church, education, and organizing is that building and strengthening community is the best way to combat regimes dedicated to sowing mistrust.
