The President seems unwell. From his physical symptoms to his visible cognitive decline, the American people deserve clear answers about his ability to serve. I’ve formally called on the White House Physician to provide transparency and the truth about President Trump’s health.

I'm telling y'all: do not praise the woman who just won the Nobel Peace Prize. She's begging Trump to bring peace to Venezuela by starting a coup.

the president of the united states who has access to unprecedented levels of intel and up to the minute daily briefings is instead making statements based on fox news broadcasts from 2020 that his staff has convinced him is happening right now

And the lawsuits will follow promptly. Government shutdowns give presidents no additional authority to dismiss federal workers. We’ll fight these outrageous assaults on civil servants and public services.

Authoritarian systems tend towards corruption because they a) attract people disinterested in maintaining public goods, and b) systematically remove guardrails and accountability to enable private capture of those goods

Markets fell right after this post, but I can't even say it's because of renewed fear of a trade war with China. Some people might just have realized the president's brain is just rotten mash potatoes at this point and it scares them.

“we are telling you right now that we do not intend to honor anything we agree to” is certainly a negotiating position one can take

The reality distortion field around finance bros that believed that full self-driving and robotaxis and household robot slaves and hyperloops were all coming 5 years ago🤡,

...is no more powerful than the reality distortion field around MAGA farmers that didn't see the soybean freeze out coming. 🤷🏿‍♂️

The insane speed limits might be the SH 130 tollroad that bypasses Austin. It has sections posted up to 85 mph. (Your friends might not realize it, but the Bush Turnpike is named for H.W. instead of his son. I always try to avoid it if I’m ever that far north.)

House Recess Extended to Oct. 19 As Government Shutdown Continues The House clerk reads a communication from Speaker Mike Johnson designating October 14 to 19 a district work period for members, meaning that the House will be in recess except for pro forma sessions ...

Running scared again.

Speaker Johnson knows America is not buying his BS—people want Republicans to end their shutdown, reopen the government & prevent health insurance premiums from doubling.

Instead of trying to work on a deal, he’s canceling another week of work. Pathetic!

Eight days ago, a ruptured water line on the 20th floor caused a major electrical short on the 11th floor. Now 175 apartments are uninhabitable in the middle of Downtown Dallas and tenants are forced to relocate.

Portland is leading the way. This is how you (non violently) beat Fascism. Humor and ridicule are key.

This video is everywhere because it's a hilarious visual refutation of Portland being on fire. You can't get a mass movement going without convincing the masses

so yes, this does do something actually

After that job and century ended, I still went back often and took hundreds of photos. These are all from various months of 2010. It’s a wondrous place that has too often been neglected.

Fair Park is one of my favorite places.

When I lived near Woodrow in the ’90s, I rode my bike there every day before my second-shift cubicle job downtown. Almost always had the entire park to myself.

It’s so frustrating to know its incredible potential while it has languished and deteriorated.
