a year ago i was on the verge of quitting my job in redwood city because of slow and infrequent trains, but I held out for @caltrain.com electrification. a year on from that and my commute is so easy i barely think about it

The city is shutting off the water on our block from 8-4 tomorrow, and having to plan out my water usage for the time that I am home tomorrow gives me more appreciation for the burden of water insecurity in places that lack consistent access to clean drinking water!

Tonight at my commission a 12 (?) year old boy made his first-ever public comment. His arm in a sling, he talked about being hit by an SUV riding his bike earlier this week.

This kid was so young he asked to speak early because public comment was past his bedtime. We’ve completely failed our youth.

Rounded out the trip with dinner at Curry Corner in South San Francisco! I enjoyed the Palak Paneer pizza while my parents spoke highly of the Tandoori Chicken Pizza.

Choose this place because it reminded me of visiting the Indian-Italian fusion restaurant, “Curry and Pie” in Georgetown.

Had a great time on Caltrain! The bike car seems really nice, and there were some great views on the elevated sections!

Interesting, the 23 I took earlier in the day was fairly full, I’m sure that the ridership is pretty peaky around commute hours.

Luckily the Watsonville Transit Center has bathrooms + a water fountain + Routes 1 and 2 have a combined 7.5 min frequency, so this was a great pit stop

It’s so wild to see you in the place that I started my day this morning! Enjoy the ride, this route is one of my favorites! And be on the lookout, you’ll probably pass the northbound Coast Starlight at some point in the next few hours!

MST 28 to Watsonville

Absolutely did not expect to be on a mini bus for a part of this trip! Luckily the lift is mostly rattle-free. Nearly all of my fellow riders are MST bus drivers who I assume are headed back to a bus yard.

Made my transfer to an earlier bus than expected! Interior is decidedly less luxurious on this one, but the padded seats are comfortable enough. Still probably need lunch, but I wasn’t feeling anything from 7-11 by the stop
