That is historical revisionism. The New Deal was a temporary concession to the American working class in order to prevent a full-blown revolution that they witnessed in Russia just a few years prior. Roosevelt knew that the alternative was the blood of capitalists in the street.

I think not enough white people are taking the voting rights issues seriously enough. They are killing people and then offering to stop killing if the state gives up the voter registration data. This should be setting off massive alarms for EVERYONE. (I’m looking at you, white people.)
