A dirty relationship comes to an end — The European Correspondent For the first year in more than a century, Britain will produce no coal in 2025.

Britain will produce no coal in 2025 - having phased out the most carbon-intensive fossil fuel last Sept, becoming the first G7 country to do so.

But since 1880s the UK has burned ~4.6bn tonnes of coal, emitting more than most countries have from all energy sources.
