“Racial profiling is fine because if you’re being wrongly profiled they’ll just leave you alone” is a fairly succinct summary of the right-wing position on racial profiling.

Meta suppressed research on child safety, employees say The company’s lawyers intervened to shape research that might have shed light on risks in virtual reality, four current and former staffers have told Congress. Meta denies the allegations.

A German teen told Meta's child safety researchers his under-10 little brother had been sexually propositioned multiple times on its VR platform.

Meta deleted the evidence.

New internal whistleblower docs indicate that was part of a broader cover-up: www.washingtonpost.com/investigatio...

Every economics paper from now until the heat death of the universe is gonna have to asterisk any data from 2025-2028.

I honestly feel like this is all being done to mock, not to persuade. They know it's absurd to use a traumatic head injury that they caused as an excuse for starvation. They know those angry about it can't do anything about it. The absurdity is a flex of power.

I'm in a hotel and at the breakfast lounge, a morning show was playing. The segment was about "36% of all shopping is AI-assisted" and when the host drilled down, that mostly meant using ChatGPT to ask when stores are open.
We're putting that AI to work people

not gonna lie, if one of my friends told me they used ChatGPT to write all their texts to me, I would slowly edge that person out of my life

"let's find common ground" says the Jed bartlett wannabe with a high schooler's sense of what diplomacy must be like, thinking that's the opening gambit and wanting to fast forward to the scene where everyone's happy and shaking hands and knowing their wisdom was responsible for this scene

It feels really good to say "I listen to both sides and find the truth somewhere in the middle" because you're telling yourself you're so smart for being unbiased. Meanwhile the guy intentionally lying to you so he can exterminate anyone he thinks is less human than him is calling you a great patsy

Without that stroke I don’t leave Pokémon for Bungie (doctors said if I didn’t reduce stress the next one would kill me). I don’t go to Bungie, Bungie doesn’t crack down on video game cheating (nobody else there knew how). So my stroke changed the trajectory of the industry, at least temporarily.

If Biden had taken 10% of Intel, at least it would have been in exchange for the billions in Chips Act funding granted to the company. Trump's taking this in exchange for deciding not to destroy the company. It's literal protection money.

This morning, me in the @nytimes.com, discussing why the attacks on Governor Cook, the ONLY woman of color to join the Fed's Board of Governors, is a perfect example of how the individual costs women of color face TODAY become societal costs for everyone tomorrow.

So here’s the thing: you can never fully “sort the chaos.” The right wing will kick up a new chaos. Their entire reason for existing is to PREVENT you from getting a hearing. It will be one sabotage after another, forever.

If you can’t see that pattern, you don’t belong anywhere near politics.

Oh, also, there's no truth to the claims that everyone on the right is making about that guy being the "head" or "lead" cheerleader. They just made that up entirely. Zero reason to think that's true, not that it matters (but does illustrate how dumb some of the stuff the right believes is)

Men taking away women’s jobs. Some girl dancer/ cheerleader worked her entire life only to be the last cut do the Vikings (a mascot synonymous with peak masculinity) hired a dude. I hope fans protest.

This isn’t feminism. It’s something else way different.

See the attack line? They've found it to be successful against trans people, so they're trying to expand it. They don't actually care about women!

Nothing projects strength like tiptoeing delicately around your opponents trying to engineer the pitch-perfect combination of words and phrases to poke them with, so that you can rhetorically wound them without overstepping. Truly the art of mass politics right there

As for the substance, we're supposed to believe that "a Democratic staffer" who "was friends with Schiff" called leaking a classified document "treasonous" to an FBI investigator. Not "illegal" or "prohibited," but "TREASONOUS."

Yeah sure he did.
