The Doodling Dingus

-Obscurity deepens until someone redesigns them into either a loveable dingus or a sadistic serial killer.

What i like about it is the way that even a lame character idea can be turned 180° if put in imaginative hands.

There's always a pattern too.
-Start off being taken completely seriously.
-Audience's limited interest in a guy who only steals pennies leads to fewer appearances.
-Character is only seen in the background or as a cheeky easter-egg while the Joker (a literal clown) calls them a loser.

One of the things I love about the loser tier of Batman villains is that there will always be the possibility that someone will look at their (usually) goofy-looking gimmick and say
"Yeah, I can work with this."
