probably not but i'm kind of giggling thinking about that lol
I'm acutely interested in the PFT reference, but hesitate to say why because I'm half stoned on an edible and fear I am projecting. Hopefully I'll get a notif about this in a day or three when I'm clearheaded(ish) again and can reread/look it up on my own.

(By the way, HE spilled the coffee, not me. I don't drink coffee. These were all in a bundle of papers & artwork reclaimed from a storage unit after he got out of prison, which both he and my mom were going to throw away. I grabbed them all. Most of it was trash, but a few pieces of art mixed in.)

No date on the color piece, but it was probably about the same time as the B&W. This one had coffee spilled on it and was damaged when I tried to separate the papers, which made me heartsick. I could cry thinking about the art he's destroyed. He has Alzheimer's now and no interest in art anymore. π’

The same image as the first, with a standard kitchen matchstick added for scale.
I found two pieces while tidying up my office. Both are "horror vacui," although the B&W was about 1.5y after the accident in which he lost the use of his dominant right hand, so he was training himself to use his left hand. I love the styles nonetheless. B&W first:

So I guess thatβs where we are now.
A tan puppy sleeps under the covers, with both paws out and her eyes and nose covered by a piece of maroon fabric. Her visible ear is flopped up so that the pink inner part is visible and she appears to be smiling in her sleep.
The puppy has been awakened by the sound of the camera shutter. She has raised her head slightly to look at the source of the offending noise. The ear that was stretched out is now flopped over and her other ear is visible; her nose is peeking out from under the maroon fabric. One paw is still positioned over the covers but the other is now hooked over her snout, blocking one eye while the other eye stares balefully at the photographer. She is no longer smiling.
She's so extra. The tiny click of the shutter noise disturbed her beauty rest. She'll be recovering from this outrage for a week.

I mean, I'm not sitting on an alabaster throne--I will be an enthusiastic omnivore until I die--but OP's original/rather dismissive phrasing just doesn't sit right with me. "It's not like they're [real] humans" has been employed too often IMO

08.03.2025 23:46 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0A screenshot of a poem. The poem reads: Choose your leaders with wisdom and forethought. To be led by a coward is to be controlled by all that the coward fears. To be led by a fool is to be led by the opportunists who control the fool. To be led by a thief is to offer up your most precious treasures to be stolen. To be led by a liar is to ask to be told lies. To be led by a tyrant is to sell yourself and those you love into slavery.

I may be disasterizing, but you are Pollyannaizing.
Let's put it this way:
I hate crickets and grasshoppers and moths. Probably butterflies too if i stopped to think about it but they're pretty so I don't. I hate them and they terrify me to the point of what's probably a phobia.
I STILL DON'T STEP ON THEM because they're living creatures who meant++
