JD Vance’s team had water level of Ohio river raised for family’s boating trip Exclusive: Incident raises questions of exploitation of public services, but Secret Service says it was requested for ‘safe navigation’

The US govt can raise rivers, but it can't find records.

Secret Service asked the Army Corps of Engineers this summer to raise the water level of an Ohio river so JD Vance could go fishing.

I FOIAd both agencies about it, and was just told by Secret Service that no records exist.

Not possible.

Trump signs executive order for single national AI regulation standard, limiting power of states President Trump's executive order, which limits the power of states in regulating AI, is a win for big tech companies that have lobbied for a federal standard.

Trump did an end run around Congress to try to BAN states from regulating AI by threatening lawsuits or lost funding.

No matter how much tech billionaires donate to Trump, he does not have the authority to make laws—Congress does. I’ll fight back against this corrupt move.

Scoop: FDA vaccine chief’s memo cited 10 pediatric Covid-19 vaccine deaths—but the agency’s own analysis found 0–7. Dr. Vinay Prasad circulated a memo before FDA scientists finished their work. His conclusions overshot what the agency’s own analysts ultimately found.

Prasad, Makary and others who claim that COVID19 vaccines killed 10 children are not telling the truth.

According to @jeremyfaust.bsky.social, the committee that worked on this question reported that there were ZERO deaths that they were certain were caused by the vaccines.

Well worth reading.

Subject: Message from Director Serralta - - RE: Thanksgiving Holiday

USMS Team,

Tomorrow as a Country we celebrate a uniquely American tradition of giving thanks throughout the day for our many blessings. As you are the foundation of our success, I want to express my sincere gratitude for your hard work and dedication, enabling the United States Marshals Service to achieve our myriad of justice-inspired missions in service to this great Nation.

It is fitting to reflect back on the history of our Agency and this treasured holiday since they were both established in the same year. In 1789, New Jersey congressman Elias Boudinot proposed that the House and Senate jointly ask President Washington to proclaim a day of thanksgiving for "the many signal favors of Almighty God." Washington then created the first U.S. government-mandated Thanksgiving Day. It read in part: "Now therefore I do recommend and assign Thursday the 26th day of November next to be devoted by the People of these States to the service of that great and glorious Being, who is the beneficent Author of all the good that was, that is, or that will be.”

Our legacy continuously reminds us of the purpose behind our labor, as does sacred text. From Colossians 3:23-24, "Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ". Your work is not just a job; it is an opportunity to contribute and to honor God.

We at the United States Marshals Service have always stood for service to our fellow citizens. Doing our best for others is deeply rooted in who we are. I wish you and your families a happy and safe holiday. We extend our special thanks to those of you who will be working over the holiday or are separated from your families. May God bless you and keep you.

Respectfully,
Gadyaces S. Serralta
Director

Before Thanksgiving, Director of the US Marshals sent out this message to all employees: "Your work is not just a job; it is an opportunity to contribute and to honor God."

“Hanukkah is not just about a festival of lights. Hanukkah is about redemption from religious persecution,” Menken said during the DoL service. “The miracle of Hanukkah was a sign from God that [the Maccabees] had done the right thing and that they would be successful in their efforts.”

“We also live in a generation where too many, even in things that the Department of Labor deals with directly, are focused upon how to do it wrong, persecuting individuals based on their religious beliefs,” he added. “There are employers out there who will try to force even and, of course, in government to certify same-sex weddings, require preferred gender pronouns, force a baker to bake a cake celebrating something he doesn’t like, force nurses to perform abortions, endocrinologists to administer unnecessary and harmful hormones. And in too many firms, anyone with a Jewish name need not apply. Hanukkah tells us that not only that there is a right and a wrong, but there is an almighty God who stands with us when we fight to move in the right direction.”

Last week I reported the Dept of Labor was holding its “Inaugural Secretary's Prayer Service." It took place yesterday and I've gotten disturbing reports, including comments made by right wing Rabbi Yaakov Menken.

This story confirms what I've been told: publicwitness.wordandway.org/p/department...
