ICE detained Arlit Maria Martinez on her way to work. 2 days later, her 15 yo son died of cancer. They wouldn't let her out to say goodbye. The family had planned to move back to Mexico prior to the cancer diagnosis but stayed for his treatment. Now, Mr Martinez has lost his wife to ICE & his son.

An editor who thinks novelty is having a town hall with Alan Dershowitz, or publishing the thousandth anti-woke story, doesn’t think having first hand testimony of migrants suffering abuse because of US decisions is newsworthy.

And did she file a false FBI report and did RFK get her to file a false restraining order. Why is he not taking any heat for this?

To me this framing and response shows so clearly their belief that other people—readers of the newspaper—aren’t capable of correctly assessing what’s happening in the world. That we need the NYT to challenge our narrow confirmation biases. More than a tinge of messianic arrogance.

Went to NYT and WSJ to see if either had reported this, was expecting to be disappointed, and was. Reporting on this level of vitriol and mental instability is not “validating the views” of those dislike the president. In the future, a timeline of all the stories not reported will be instructive.
