Hurray! Yes, hopefully wrapping up the vocals this week, actually. I found an old CD duper monstrosity too, so I might burn CDs like it's the early 2000s again! :)

Big brained folks: "She's a witch"
A commenter just called me a "fascist" because I told people I don't use so-called "generative AI".
I'm at a loss for words. Just wow
I don't envy you the task on this one. Hoo jeeze.
04.08.2025 19:54 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Your fictional life sounds thrilling, no wonder folks are fictionally mesmerized by it. :)
01.08.2025 21:17 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Every single one. 100%, one of my biggest pet peeves about Minneapolis.
30.07.2025 21:34 โ ๐ 3 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0The smoky air in Minneapolis is so sad right now. An otherwise gorgeous day kinda ruined.
30.07.2025 21:10 โ ๐ 28 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 2 ๐ 0Someone needs to make a "Walz activates the guard" fake press release generator.
"Governor Walz activates Minnesota National Guard in response to locking his keys in his car."
I agonized over the wording. Intelligence is incredible and I'm not eager to cede it to a computer doing parlor tricks just yet. In the end I'm happy with what I came up with.
29.07.2025 16:53 โ ๐ 8 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0New thread in my comments: folks telling me I'm being "an elitist" or "gatekeeping" for mentioning that I don't use so-called "generative AI" in my videos.
I'd write a blog post about it but it all comes down to one word:
"Huh?"
Keep circulating the tapes.

20.07.2025 03:39 โ ๐ 40 ๐ 3 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I think it should end on something that's popular enough to be useful in a variety of contexts, and maybe that's limiting? At least I can imagine it needs to end on a language likely to attract developer attention. I'll take Python over JavaScript. :P
17.07.2025 20:41 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0It's so good! There are little things I'd change, particularly that it's all text based, but I can imagine they're operating with constraints in development time.
I think ending on Python might not be the best move either but again, they'd probably need more developers to enhance that.
I'd like to see Commodore 2 take note of what they did with hedy.org and see if they can enhance it and provide some sprite-inspired graphical additions. I could imagine hardware that boots to a Hedy lesson as being a welcome change from the Pi-influenced SBC crowd.
17.07.2025 20:33 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Kinda disagree on this one- I've personally taught folks the basics of programming with this, and seen how it's a door opener. I think the design disarms folks long enough for them to see if programming is a real interest.
I think Hedy accomplishes the next step well, and would like to see it grow.

whenever i do skits like this thereโs always at least 3 separate ppl in the comments who are pissed off that i mirrored the camera instead of swapping sides
I've typically used the Soarer's Converter for these beasts, but I decided to give the "ctrl-M" project a try because it makes the keyboard QMK compatible, and SDL cables are more expensive than replacement controller boards at this point.

My IBM Model M SSK is easier than ever to use on a modern machine, thanks to the "ctrl-M" open source replacement controller!
