One of my favorite #Amiga features: being able to pull down a screen to see what’s running behind it (without missing a beat).

In this case I have a high res interlaced workbench with a non interlaced Infinity Music Player running behind it and then an interlaced Directory Opus behind that.

Just finished a very interesting and frustrating Mac SE/30 repair. It drew half the screen properly interspersed with garbage. And the system would randomly lock up. The screen issues were caused by a bad LS393, and the random lockups were caused by the 8530 chip. #VintageMac

Interesting to nobody: I have rev-engineered the batch-send process of the Texscan MSI CompuVID Spectragen 4B titler/chargen system and have a Python script that successfully completes a full serial communications cycle.

We have iMac at home

Starting to go through my #VCFMW finds including a Power Mac 9500 with Avid video stuff and $5 IIsi YouTube video by BigBadBench

I had a blast and got some neat stuff at #VCFMW last weekend. Let's start going through my acquisitions including a Performa 630 logic board, Centris 610 logic board, the brownest IIsi ever, and a Power Mac 9500 video editing workstation. 3:30 eastern today. youtube.com/live/pzNRG3-...

Now I want to build one.

It's badged as a Power Macintosh 4200/75, and its front is divided into three sections; a logo/badge area, a cdrom above that, and a floppy drive above that. It looks singularly unexciting, but of the era and is against a white background like the most white-background of promo shots.

The Power Macintosh G2 Cube shown here with the higher-end 75Mhz PPC603, memory slot, and LC-PDS compatible expansion was an addition to the Macintosh family.

Another really good option is Digikam. It's not super pretty but it's powerful and has some excellent search tools including fuzzy image matching.

I flashed my 7800GT using a FreeDOS USB stick and a spare i3 motherboard. Just be sure you get the command switches right and don't be a dummy like I was when I tried to flash a Quadro fx4500 and bricked it (i still need to find my ROM tool and fix that)
