Nothing says "I want independent judges" like threatening to sack any judge who disagrees with you, while holding up a judge's wig like a puppet

β€œYou described Reform and other parties across Europe today as among the 'right wing equivalents of the fascists in the 1930s'. Why?”

β€œBecause that’s what they are”

@vicderbyshire.bsky.social asks Lord Heseltine about remarks he made at Conservative Party Conference.

It does just feel like there's something Jenrick is trying to say.

Jenrick now proposing sacking judges he doesn't like. I can just about remember when Conservatives cared about things like the rule of law.

The best thing Conservatives could do - whatever they think of Margaret Thatcher - is to face up to the challenges of their own times, rather than trying to cosplay a leader who was formed in the 1930s and 40s, who took power half a century ago & who governed for the challenges of her day, not ours.

Reform UK’s Councillor Dave Poole has put out this bizarre graphic littered with spelling errors.

Our favourite part is where it says Reform UK keeps being called the β€˜fat right’.

"Kemi Badenoch has chosen to back Nigel Farage and join Vladimir Putin by leaving the European Convention on Human Rights – a proud British creation championed by Churchill that protects everyone's rights and freedoms.
"This will do nothing to stop the boats or fix our broken immigration system – problems caused by the last Conservative Government that Badenoch still hasn't apologised for.
"I say to former One Nation Conservatives who have been abandoned by their party’s lurch to the extremes: you have a home with us. The Liberal Democrats will always fight to defend our fundamental British freedoms and the rule of law."

Kemi Badenoch has chosen the side of Vladimir Putin and Nigel Farage with her plan to leave the European Convention on Human Rights.

The ECHR is a proud British creation, championed by Churchill, that protects everyone's rights and freedoms.

This chart shows the overall movement of voters between parties (and not voting). The post looks at each of the main groups that have shifted, their motivations and their demographics.

This was always the funniest conspiracy theory to me β€” that there are MRI machine-like devices that can cure all known illnesses in seconds, but the government has been hiding them β€” and Trump just posted an AI generated video of himself announcing they're real. We're cooked!

Nigel Farage & Alex Phillips have been awfully quiet about Nathan Gill pleading guilty to eight counts of bribery relating to pro-Russia statements made in European parliament and articles.

Just wanted to refresh their memories about how they were all a team through that period.

Is that people in Lincolnshire are eating ducks from the river

Even when it's pointed out that the Royal Parks say there is no culture of anyone eating swans

Whether it's Trump or Farage, 'Overreach' is in the Hard Right Populist's DNA. It is the son and daughter of 'doubling down'/becoming more extreme over time, and it is their greatest weakness in a democracy, causing voters to ultimately turn against them.

Liberal Democrat Health Spokesperson Helen Morgan:

"Nigel Farage wants to impose Trump's dangerous anti-science agenda here in the UK. Peddling this kind of nonsense is irresponsible and wrong.

"It seems Farage would rather see pregnant women suffer in pain than stand up to his idol Donald Trump."

There is huge market share for the Lib Dem’s to run with the motto of β€œenough of this American nonsense let’s be sensible British people
Again” and not sure anyone’s weird arguments that specific voters should be chased is needed at all.

Graphic with the headline β€œLondon is the greatest city in the world” set against a bright view of the River Thames with the Shard, Tower Bridge and the city skyline.

The text celebrates what makes London special: regularly voted the number one city in the world, incredible diversity with over 300 languages spoken, world-class transport, world leader in finance tech and life sciences, best museums and galleries many free to visit, world-leading nightlife, food sport and music for every taste, host to the world’s best sporting events, home to seven Premier League clubs, globally-ranked universities, a city where you can be yourself and love who you love, and a place for everyone.

Why are the American president's claims about autism the first item on British news bulletins?

He's not our president, the advice doesn't apply here and he's not presented any evidence to support his assertions.

So why spread these claims? What make this the biggest story in the UK?

Reform will apparently pledge today that they'd abolish indefinite leave to remain - including retrospectively, to people already granted it. Obviously this is a moral abomination but it is also a practical and legal impossibility.

The radical right in Britain increasingly claims to represent "Christian values" & "Christian civilisation" - though its leaders rarely go to church or pretend to believe anything.

It's especially important that Christian leaders speak out against this, as it's their tradition that's being claimed.
