It is currently August. Congress is out of session in DC, so support & service staff have left the city. (At least, that was my experience when I lived there 30ish years ago.)

San Diego schools started back today & other schools will start soon, even if it’s sports-related. Not a lot of tourists.

The next year it was 65 degrees. There was nobody at the beach, ergo, no fights.

Clearly, the alcohol ban worked!

Now alcohol is permanently banned on all San Diego beaches (weed is not, but that’s a whole different story)

I live in San Diego & back in like, 2009 (??), it was really hot on July 4th & there were all these fights at the beach.

City Council (??) said, we’re going to try an alcohol ban next year, see if that solves anything.
