We were wanting a search engine that feels like perusing your friend's bookshelves, rather than searching the entire library database. The weird, personal, indie web is still out there!

This project started because we wanted to restrict a search engine to use only the sites that you already trust and enjoy. Like personal blogs and museum archives and directories full of esoteric PDFs. You can see my site list ("spores") here: fee.cool/spores.json
