Mmmm. Been a long time since I found interesting English.. and this is from Amazon! Although I feel like I don't understand why the Japanese is there either. Can I (or the packing person, for that matter) not figure out that this box has an adjustable height just by looking at it? Was kinda obvious.

So, yeah, uh, how many more 100s of years until humans wake up and stop muddling around and get stuff done right? I'm so tired of going, "the hell?" when I read the news. Like, I know we all make mistakes, but, uh, there's a difference between that and abject willful ignorant redonk.

3) & just like no one can just pick up paint brush & be a master artist... Without that teacher/artist to teach us, how can we truly learn?
Just as everyone misquotes Aristotle's "Those that know, do... those that understand, teach," I'm sure people will continue to try to dismiss teachers, forever.

2) "No more teachers, just videos of the best lectures forever!" Every single time, invariably, this new thing means that we can get rid of teachers. I always wonder, what fundamental point are we all missing where we think that teachers can just be canceled like that?

1) So during my graduate program, we did a deep dive on the history of media in education. This "phenomenon" happens every single time a new technology comes around. The invention of the radio = "We'll record the best teachers and then we won't need them anymore!" The invention of the TV... 2-->

I've been out of the states too long. Charcuterie is a word firmly part of the American vernacular now. When was the first instance of it slipping in to the American lexicon? Wasn't cool enough to be just a meat and cheese tray anymore?

Emptying out parents' possessions reminds one to cut down on everything in their own life. And also I really feel like going on a diet. Maybe it's all the cans that expired in 2002...

Sports day as a teacher on a rainy day means you get to help disassemble the misters while they are spraying in your face and you don't even notice.

The feeling you get when you offer to give away furniture for free, and someone yells at you because you wouldn't also drive it 8 kilometers to their house and deliver it to their 3rd story apartment.

Reason 4. For networking opportunities it would provide/has provided. Part of being an expert at something is knowing that you don't know everything. Being able to connect with people all over the world doing similar research is an amazing thing, & the doc has connected me more.

Non-reason 3. To teach at university. Sorry, no desire to ever work at university. I predict that if future-me ever teaches @ a uni it will be for some extraordinary reason, because now-me (& past-me) can't imagine it. I still miss my middle schoolers. But I ❤️ my high schoolers.

Non-reason 2. "So you want to be an administrator?!" Absolutely not. I have NO desire, ever. However, if you are in education, that is what everyone will assume when you start a doc. You must want to advance your career in that way, not because you want to improve your practice.

Reason 2. Part J. looking at starting would be an even better idea. If I got a degree with the word "tech" literally in it, maybe it would help. I have since learned that it only helps with some people, but that's another story; this is just a list of why I began the degree.

So I was tired, as this was just one more story in a list of stories. Tired of working hard to prove something no one would believe any way. I thought then that maybe the degree I had been

I really understood what kind of rule it was.

So in my last encounter with one of those two tech guys, I asked him, basically, "What the hell??" And was told, "Well, if I did tell anyone the password,

Reason 2. Part G. They'd laugh and say, "Sorry, you know we can't, rules are rules, hah hah." And I understood it was a rule.

So, when, during my last year there, I discovered that at least 4 different male teachers had been given the admin password (by 2 different tech guys), and none of these

Reason 2. Part F. the school they would be intrigued by what I was proposing and say, that's great. I'd joke, "Can't you give me the admin password, heh? Then you wouldn't have to come all the way out here?"

Reason 2. Part E. and then wait for one of them to come out all the way to the school. I had a variety of workarounds for this including USB keys which I handed out to people which had programs that could be run without install. When the tech guy (they were all guys) would eventually make it out to
