Alignment updates. Changed file structure which disconnected meshes & textures (too many to auto-link). Linked textures back, VR plugin not working with Blender 5.0. 4. Board Members Positions and Responsibilities

The 3D Analysis SIG is administered by six Board members. The Chair provides coordination for the group. The Chair is responsible for making sure that the SIGโ€™s activities are planned effectively, conducted according to the CAA-International constitution and that matters are handled in an orderly, efficient manner. They must be willing to commit a not insubstantial effort to the building of the community over the duration of their tenure.

Apart from the Boardโ€™s Chair the remaining 5 positions have undifferentiated roles, to be further attuned by the newly elected board. Board members are expected to share steering responsibilities and workload as much as possible. All Board members act as representatives of the 3D Analysis SIG community in CAA International conference meetings and activities. They are expected to attend the CAA-International and National Chapters conferences to the best of their ability and work in connection with the relevant CAA-International committees to actively promote and coordinate the 3D Analysis SIG activities.

At least one position on the Board is reserved for a PhD student.
Candidates should indicate whether they opt for the Chair position.
Geographic diversity is encouraged to enable broad international participation, and presence in forthcoming CAA International conferences.

We invite interested colleagues to join our Discord channel (https://discord.gg/GRkuE4F4) for informal queries, updates, and community exchange.

The issue with both of these is the need to have a decent self-hosting infrastructure in place. Not a big deal for some, but yet another obstacle to overcome if you're not familiar with these sorts of things.

Nothing plug and play unfortunately. For main viewer development the front-runners I've seen are probably 3DHop and Smithsonian Voyager. There's documentation out there for them, but definitely not super approachable. Leaning towards trying to adapt Voyager currently.

Science isn't something you can just restart by a snap of the fingers either. The amount of lost knowledge and lab-specific know how lost is immeasurable. Like poisoning the soil in a forest of 300 yo trees. You can't just replant and hope things are like before.
