Every Democratic member of Congress should be on a plane to Minneapolis right now to join the people protesting in the streets. Federal elected officials should physically place themselves between the public and these dangerous thugs sent to terrorize this American city.

As a leader, the way you *encourage* your people to peacefully protest is to get out there on the street with them.

This cannot be done from the protected safety of one’s office.

Yeah. Visits to ICE facilities is "fine" if they're doing other things like you mentioned. If that's *all* they appear to be doing? Not a chance.

I used to really appreciate Lieu because he'd speak in hearings pretty emphatically and bluntly about things, but more and more lately I've just seen him as part of the "say a lot, but don't really put yourself on the line" kind of group (like Schumer, Jeffries, etc).

Pretty disappointed.
