When asked to describe PEM ppl said it feels like: "my body is filled with wet sand". "they're hostage", "unrelenting", "torture poison", "all my cells dying...", "hell on earth", "prison in my mind", "punishment for existing", "like you are dying"

These are 9 tiny snippets from 100+ responses.

You can't reform police, like you can't vote out organized crime.

Fuck the police. Defund the police.

Yeah, hi, I’m a person with β€œmobility challenges” (excuse me while I hurl). What we want, by and large, are not expensive, heavy devices that will β€œhelp us walk again”, but ramps.

I know, it’s not sexy, as technology invented before Christ, but it is overlooked in favor of…this. Repeatedly.

Imagine if wellness influencers put as much effort into pushing covid precautions and explaining the severity of issues caused by multiple infections as they did into selling the latest snake oil supplements.

I have a friend who said, of Starfleet Academy, that this took them out of it - that seeing a person in a wheelchair in the 32nd century seemed unrealistic, since medicine in Star Trek "should be able to cure whatever was wrong with them."

That's not the case, for any number of possible reasons.

It should be illuminating that prosecuting sex trafficking, the thing that prosecutors and police across the country have been using as a cash cow to fund surveillance and weaponry, is actually not something government prosecutors care about at all.
The system does not hold people accountable.

So anyone claiming to know why this happened right now is full of shit.

It bears repeating that so much of the far-right alternative media ecosystem built itself up through its (sensational and often inaccurate) coverage of mass shootings, namely by identifying scapegoats or running interference

Their playbook for responding to this stuff is formulaic at this point

RTO disproportionately impacts the careers of women and disabled people. I’m so glad to see Bruce Fanjoy push back against this regressive policy

Carney himself wrote in his book about how beneficial being able to work from home was for him, but now is trying to take it away from everyone else

Bruce Fanjoy:

Statement Regarding the Return to Office Policy
February 9*, 2026
On February 5th, 2026, the federal government announced an updated Return-to-Office
(RTO) policy for federal public servants. Today, I am calling upon the government to reconsider this policy for the following reasons:
1. The new RTO policy makes it harder to achieve the government's priorities of reducing the operating cost of government, improving affordability, and respecting the environment. Instead, it will cost both the government and citizens more and increase pollution.
2. There is little to no evidence that a one-size-fits-all RTO policy will improve productivity or service to Canadians.
3. The RTO policy makes it harder for public servants to balance work with other responsibilities.
I believe Canada is better served by a hybrid model that balances a mix of in-office and remote work. The right balance is flexible and depends on circumstances. Done well, a hybrid model reduces the cost of government and benefits workers and all Canadians.
To my constituents in Carleton, I hear you. I will continue to press for solutions that work for you and all Canadians.
Sincerely,
Bruce Fanjoy
Member of Parliament for Carleton

When you see unhoused people asking for money what you should see is a fracturing of the social contract where an issue (housing) that should be addressed on a municipal or statuary level is instead foisted on individuals in a way designed o put callouses on their souls

Please mask. If you're in the position to make decisions about your organization's OH & S, please reinstate masking requirements. Community is the best antidote to fascism, and we need to keep each other safe to build it in the first place. Please. Mask.

Long COVID is REAL. I went from healthy to bedbound.
+65M+ worldwide are suffering. +Symptoms: fatigue, brain fog, dizziness, heart palpitations, hair loss, & more.

If you know someone with β€˜mysterious symptoms’, it’s likely Long COVID, not perimenopause. Don’t ignore it. #LongCovidAwarenessDay

I have been sick with Long COVID for 3 years.
Bedridden for nearly two years.
Unable to have a conversation for 1.5 years.

Long COVID is devastating, and it doesn’t always get better with time.

It is a shame Alberta is dragging its feet signing the new federal child care deal because early data suggests it was one of the provinces where it really, REALLY, worked.

A huge amount of Alberta women left the labour force between 2019-24 except women with kids 0-5 years.
