I have relatives who live in the south. They have never made MAGA their identity (thankfully) but were ambivalent before. Now, they’ve promised to vote in every upcoming election, against this regime. I think this is why Republicans are calling for control of elections now. They know what’s coming.

Gov’t extrajudicial executions hit all us Natives in ways that are hard to explain to others. We feel it on a bone-deep level.

And yet…We all dig a little deeper & continue to resist, because we haven’t even begun to experience what my ancestors survived. Taking care of yourself & others Is key.

Not so much in my ⭕️ (but then I’m Indigenous and live in Minnesota). I have seen a whole lot of folks who were checked out of politics (because caring for kids & parents & working simultaneously) contact me to see what they can do. This hit their ‘oh HELL to the FUCKING NO’ button, finally.

I've been talking to my fellow middle aged+ women about using our powers of "invisibility" in support of protests. Being ignored, considered "harmless old ladies" has its benefits.

Gen X is used to being invisible. And very spicy about threats to our peace and anyone we consider to be our people. We were built for this.
