The easiest way to see for yourself if a model is a glorified autocomplete it to ask it something relevant to spatial logic. Ask it how it might balance an egg, a textbook, a donut, and an automobile. If it were simply autocomplete, the answer wouldnโ€™t make sense.

I think theyโ€™re saying โ€œthe publicโ€ as in nearby drivers and pedestrians that may be in the path of these cars.

Itโ€™s exactly like Uber: the main company isnโ€™t profitable and it propped up by VC funding, people that use it to do their jobs arenโ€™t helped much by it, and consumers are ultimately doing harm to the climate by using it.

Adobeโ€™s new iOS camera app created by the creator of the Google Pixelโ€™s cameras, Mark Levoy, brings me back a decade to an underpowered DSLR.

Pics from (beta) Project Indigo are punchy & resolution is meh (most come out 9-12MP), so the result are photos youโ€™d find in a โ€œSummer NYC 2009โ€ photo album

The worst part is that thereโ€™s no economic justification, like in past authoritarian regimes.

Voting Hitler into power is taught as a response to hyperinflation and whatnot, but people voted for authoritarianism here because eggs were 10% more expensive??

Now I donโ€™t mean to claim that all of those trials were fair; the Eastern European trials of Nazis were more focused on popular catharsis, not upholding an ideal of justice.

But I donโ€™t think thatโ€™s what OP was referring to, they might have meant the Volksgerichtshof, for Nazi Peopleโ€™s Court.

Theresienstadt The Theresienstadt camp/ghetto served multiple purposes during its existence from 1941-45 and had an important propaganda function for the Germans. Learn more.

Theresienstadt was notable because it served as a model for international visitors, including the Red Cross.

The Nuremberg trials were fair trials of Nazis held by the Allied powers. In Western European countries, they were largely fair and had humane living conditions.

These look like an inhumane internment or concentration camp that people will be sent to without due process or any real justice.

On Twitter (before my feed filled up with Nazis), I didnโ€™t need to follow many people; just interacting with content I was interested in was enough to make a pretty great For You page.

I opened it once to find a previous bookmark and my For You feed, which used to be excellent, was full of actual Nazis and Trump supporters.

I really canโ€™t see why anyone stays there anymore.

Thanks! I put a lot of time and effort into making custom feeds, following the same people I followed before, etc., but I still canโ€™t make a timeline thatโ€™s relevant like I used to have.

I wonโ€™t be going back to Nazi-ville, but itโ€™s still tough to use.

09.06.2025 04:15 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Absolutely; another major piece of this is that BlueSkyโ€™s algorithm isnโ€™t as strong as Twitterโ€™s used to be (before it was changed to just show Nazis)

I donโ€™t care for a three-minute segment about a local law on a Sinclair-owned broadcaster immediately following their โ€œterrorism alertโ€ segments that just have news about brown people, not terrorists.

You have a different standard than I do; thatโ€™s fine.

Iโ€™m nobody! But I still want to hear from people with up-close knowledge of whatโ€™s happening in my community, my state, and globally.

Sorry; youโ€™re right! I was looking at his pinned post and not looking beyond that, since the last time I looked, he didnโ€™t have an active account.

I left Twitter and havenโ€™t looked back. But I understand why some people want to stay there, as explained above.

The PM of New Zealand, my local senator Sean Ryan, etc.

The sort of people who have insightful global or local commentary that Twitterโ€™s algorithm would serve effectively, but BlueSky cannot.

08.06.2025 21:32 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 5    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Twitterโ€™s algorithm was way better at surfacing those people. I sometimes want to see a post from the prime minister of New Zealand, but I donโ€™t always want to follow them and see everything they share, if that makes sense?

08.06.2025 21:21 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 2    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

I didnโ€™t use Twitter because it was full of worthwhile discussions; the comment section has always been awful compared to Reddit.

I used it because it served me timely posts from smart, connected people. BlueSky hasnโ€™t brought those people over.

Include ads, offer a subscription that removes ads, provides additional features, and gives some of the profits to your followers (same as YouTube Premium).
