If the Steelers can't run the ball effectively 85% of the time, their offense has no juice. They know it and their opponents know it.

I was skeptical about how much the transition from TV show to feature would impact the narrative. You can definitely see the seams and feel where some things might've been fleshed out more over multiple episodes. But they still did a fine job imo. It's tough to match the quality of a first hit film.

Jim Carrey got me a little emotional at the end. 😂 Appreciate getting to watch performers like him and others who’ve been in the game for so long.

Bateman was a great choice for this role. His ability to slip between chilling and humorous while not losing his "regular dude" posture is on display here.

Kids are much stronger and more nuanced than many parents are. This pressure is about protecting the parents, not the kids.

On offense, no wins on first and second down. Can't win the time of possession like that, which is clearly what they wanted to do coming in.

Capitulation is a short-term expense. Upholding principle is a long-term investment. Those who aren't marginalized can afford the short-term expense to maintain what they think is comfortable.

Up there with my top trailers of the year, easily. Playing this one in a theater should send quite the ripple effect through the air.

Scott delivers a genuinely great performance that I fear will join the list of underrated performances from horror films.

My assumption is it has to do with their need to feel powerful, not necessarily "seen". They can be seen by those who agree with them. But unless they can adequately fuel their sense of power by feeling like they can elicit a reaction, simply being "right" has no meaning for them.

So much time and energy spent arguing with people whose only goal is to drain you. Choosing to say "no" is a way to take your power back.

Indeed. Also, the effort to eliminate objective truth in discourse paved the way for everything to be up for debate. And when everything can be written off or devalued as being a matter of opinion, it's easier to forego standards and "agree to disagree" ourselves into oblivion.

This was one of the few meetings between these two where I felt the Steelers came out throwing haymakers instead of the usual body blows.

What's wild is it's not even about right and wrong–it's about who get's to have a monopoly on disparagement. Bad, power-hungry people demand apologies because they believe disparagement should only be used by them.

Republicans have an apparent tenet of seizing power amid changing demographics, which requires subversion of the rules and rejection of norms. Dems represent groups who seek equity and justice, which requires the same—but their dedication to appearing virtuous within the system is counterproductive.
