For context: Class 1 & 2 ebikes are limited to 20mph and generally aren't what people are thinking of when they're complaining about giant ebikes. The problem is that the difference between a class 2&3 is generally just a software speed limiter that is usually ridiculously easy to switch off.

While I do think there should be a lot more enforcement of "class 3 bikes aren't allowed here", I'd settle for traffic enforcement keeping the actual motorcycles out of the bike lane to start with.

Reading through the most recent Epic V. Apple opinion feels like a manual in how to celebrate winning 9 out of 10 counts in your antitrust case by losing that 1 other count as hard as humanly possible.

Hey #EconSky, I'm looking to crowdsource examples for a paper. Any stories of disintermediation from a gig platform (Fiverr, Taskrabbit etc.) that you've regretted and where you would have been able to get a refund if you'd gone through the platform but could not because of transacting directly?

#Econsky Looking for some light reading at the end of a Monday? Consider my new paper with @leistenecon.bsky.social.
I'm freeloading off my coauthor's excellent summary, but TLDR: privacy regulation can have unintended distributional effects for viewers of platforms using a freemium model.

For the longest time I thought the complaint you're referring to was things not showing up in the subscription feed. I was extremely surprised when I realized it was stemming from people completely ignoring that feed's existence.
