TL;DR — feedback for Libby should be focused on app functionality, feedback on book collections should be directed towards your local libraries.

To starve AI of attention, inform the collections management librarian that you would like them to factor whether or not a title is AI generated into their purchasing decisions. You want them to support HUMAN MADE work because that’s what YOU WANT.

Libraries prioritize what will be read, regardless of its creation, since funding is tied to checkouts. If slop gets more checkouts than something human-made, well… they’re going to purchase a copy.

Sending Libby feedback is fine, but if you do, focus on feedback on the app’a UI — no AI to help search for books or organize them, etc. Save the “no AI books in your collection” for your actual librarians, but frame it NOT from a censorship approach.

Former librarian — Libby has always been an intermediary/third party for libraries. Libraries choose which books to add to their collections for patron’s perusal. Having AI books in the system just means a librarian chose to put it in there, so if you don’t want that, contact your local libraries.

If you use GMail, AI (Gemini) was turned on yesterday by default and now scans all of your content for machine learning. To turn off, go to Settings>General and scroll down. Uncheck the box for "Smart features."

There's other "Smart" add-ons as well, but that's the one that reads your content.

Had a leak like that — turned out that the washing machine drain pipe pumped UP to the second floor to connect with the sink drain up there, and there was a leak that dribbled down the side of the pipe across some wood support boards with then dripped onto the ceiling in the washing room. 🤷🏻
