After debates on homelessness, Burien voters swing progressive Two years after Burien leaders criminalized homeless camping outside, voters have elected a new City Council majority that generally opposes that strategy.

I believe, and I heard it at the doors too, that people want solutions beyond incarceration. And turning down a million dollars and suing the county ain’t it! Happy to work with councilors and the community on a real way forward!

Absolutely insane that the protest was routed across 3rd Ave and they’ve blocked all buses for 45 min. Who at the City authorized or planned this?! Total transit gridlock, prepare for crush loads and schedule mayhem for the rest of the day!
