THIS WEEKEND, University of Glasgow Archaeology and Clyde Archaeology excavate one of the most exciting early medieval sites in Europe, as part of this University of Glasgow field school!

Another completed pair of viking age P42 oval brooches. Being able to make artefacts makes a huge difference to how you understand them from an academic perspective. It prevents poor interpretations as well as inaccurate writing regarding how things are made; prevalent within archaeology #vikings

The skill in doing this is unreal. These are stunning (and not even finished….)!

Twi sets of silver plate soldered into the channels of these P37 brooches and engraved. Next to fit the face mounts, then they can be gilded! #viking

Not that I know of. I’ve been using photogrammetry with drones which works really well. as such never really bothered with lidar…..

I’ve walked past this hundreds of times and only just gotten around to doing a #3d #photogrammetry capture of it.

This is a milestone across the road from the #Glasgow Climbing Centre easily readable with a rendering!
