Thinking about the dream of municipal snow clearing for sidewalks and wondering if anyone has dug into the history of street plowing? When was it instituted? Was it controversial? How did folks deal with it before plowing existed?

Mostly I think that w 20 of the 100 highest paid city employees being cops it really illustrates how police are wildly overpaid when basically every other roll on the list requires an expensive advanced degree. And wtf in 2022 O'hara was getting paid almost $35/hr more than Rondo was when he left!?

On one hand, I think public officials should just be paid the area median income ($104k for a family of 4). On the other, it's pretty bananas that the mayor literally isn't in the top 100 highest paid city employees. openpayrolls.com/rank/highest...

Yesterday I needed to go to the coop, it's less than a mile straight up the street so I thought maybe I could take the bus to minimize cold exposure. But it only comes every 30 min so it made no sense. Rude awakening after being in NYC, which has truly frequent service.

As an admitted urban snob, Woodbury seems like such an odd spot for it. I’d like to patronize them but I'll never go bc I don't have a car…but even if I did it's so far afield from both the cultural core and the actual geographic center of the metro that I’d never go that far for a movie theater.
