Chocolate chip oatmeal cookies that spread out in the oven because the maker was a dingus and assembled the ingredients in the wrong order, then also let the chilled dough soften way too much before baking

Baking these yummy (but extremely ugly) chocolate chip oatmeal cookies was a fun lesson in chemistry! While assembling the dough, I forgot to add the egg and extract until after I had combined the wet and dry ingredients. I also switched a refrigeration step. The result was flat, ugly cookies 🤷‍♀️

This has been my most effective reasoning with undergraduates. “Using chat GPT to write for you is like bringing a robot to the gym to do the lift for you”.
