Disability is not a vacation.

It’s not like that time you took a week off sick from work.

It’s a 24/7 job. It’s unrelenting pain, fatigue and suffering.

It’s dealing with a medical system that ignores and gaslights you, a society that views you as expendable & people who resent you for existing

I'm really interested to see studies like this and with bigger sample numbers- how I describe my quick muscle fatigue to my PT is like: that lactic acid buildup feeling that I used to get after a long workout, I now get in my arms when I try to fold laundry for 30 seconds.

long covid disproportionately impacts the already disabled, the poor, trans and queer people, working class people and BIPOC. and as soon as ruling class realized this, they clawed back all welfare state expansions and set about creating the sociological end of the pandemic

PSA: There’s a difference between wearing a mask or respirator & wearing a gaiter or face covering to disguise identity. It’s important to discern & communicate this nuance because if you don’t, you might encourage elected officials to ban masks for everyone, which would be a public health disaster.

DOE wants to eliminate regulations which require buildings receiving fed funding to be accessible to disabled people.

“We didn’t know” is a flimsy excuse. Parent, you need to read this. If you don’t know, you can’t demand clean air in schools. And if you ignore all info that says Covid is wrecking your kids’ health, they will soon be chronically ill and wonder why you didn’t do anything to protect them. Organize! ✊

Masks are under serious threat at being banned widely due to politicization. This would be a public health disaster. If you are only wearing a mask at protests, please consider also wearing them elsewhere. The more people mask, the more we normalize masks and protect them against bans.
